Terms of Service

Effective May 11, 2026

Using VaultCat

VaultCat helps you keep private backup records of social accounts, communities, channels, servers, subscriptions, handles, links, and notes you choose to save. By using VaultCat, you agree to these terms and to any plan limits shown in the app.

You are responsible for the information you enter, the accuracy of that information, and whether you have the right to store it. Do not use VaultCat to unlawfully or non-consensually collect, publish, sell, expose, surveil, or misuse personal data about other people.

Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to use VaultCat. If you use VaultCat for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization. You must keep your sign-in method secure and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. We may restrict or suspend access when needed to protect VaultCat, other users, payment systems, or the service.

Your Content

You keep ownership of the vaults, entries, descriptions, custom sources, handles, URLs, and notes you add. You give VaultCat permission to store, process, display, back up, and transmit that content only as needed to operate the service, enforce plan limits, provide support, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

Acceptable Use

Do not attempt to break authentication, bypass billing, scrape the service, overload VaultCat, upload malicious content, access another user's data, or use VaultCat for harassment, spam, surveillance, credential storage, unlawful activity, or the non-consensual disclosure or misuse of personal information.

Plans and Billing

Paid plans are billed through Polar. Pricing, billing cadence, and plan features are shown before checkout. You can cancel or manage a paid plan through the billing portal when it is available for your account. Unless required by law or separately stated, payments are non-refundable once a billing period begins.

Availability and Security

We work to keep VaultCat reliable and secure through access controls, abuse prevention, request verification, secure communications, and service monitoring. No hosted service can be guaranteed to be available, error-free, or immune from every security event.

Service Changes

We may add, change, limit, or remove features when needed for security, maintenance, product direction, legal requirements, or operational reasons. If a change materially affects paid access, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice through the app or the contact information associated with your account.

Disclaimers and Liability

VaultCat is provided as a backup workspace, not as a guaranteed recovery, archival, compliance, or identity-verification system. To the fullest extent permitted by law, VaultCat is provided without warranties, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

That liability limit does not apply where the law does not allow it, including claims that cannot be limited by applicable consumer protection, fraud, willful misconduct, or statutory rights.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, unless your local law requires otherwise. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring it somewhere else.

Termination

You may stop using VaultCat at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create security or operational risk, fail to pay for a paid plan, or use the service in a way that could harm VaultCat or others.
